This chapter in our story begins at the beginning of d3, in 2005, with St Pauls and Georges Church in Edinburgh. That was the largest AV fit out of a church in the UK at the time, with a budget of £250k.


Central Venue

More recently, Central Venue in Edinburgh, saw the revitalisation of a long underutilised space in the city centre.

Central Church acquired the iconic Central Hall in the heart of Edinburgh to accommodate the growing vision of what was formerly Morningside Baptist Church. The church had a desire to breathe new life into the building, creating a premier venue in the city centre.

Central Venue is an exceptional all-purpose venue in the heart of Edinburgh`s city centre, boasting a 1000 capacity auditorium with multiple flexible breakout spaces. It successfully delivers conferencing, exhibitions and concerts as well as dinners and special occasions and provides professional audio, Audio Visual and lighting solutions.

d3 have worked with the venue to enhance both a large and small hall:


Large Hall:

• Digital Projection 16k 1080p HD 3 chip DLP projection  - the only projector manufacturer to have ever won an Emmy for its product

The d3 process

Whether a corporate or private client, we communicate clearly with you around the potential solutions at each step, to provide you with total confidence in the outcome.

Since our formation we have always worked to establish and fulfil our clients’ needs according to the following process:

• Define // An initial introduction, face-to-face with the client, to define the project’s objectives and expectations clearly.
  
  This provides us with the technical and commercial information we need and also gives us a sense of the client’s individual character and personal requirements.
   
• Design // We create a bespoke specification for your requirement and present this to you.
  
  We have a `Change of Design Request` (CDR) process, which documents changes and preferences you make up to the final proposal, ensuring clarity for both parties. Once the project is signed off, we prepare for swift on-site delivery.
   
• Deliver // The entire project is carefully managed by d3 from design to completion. 
  
  Relationships are established with any other on-site contractors and a delivery programme is set out according to your agreed specifications.  Once the solution is delivered, d3 provides the relevant technical instruction and on-going support.

D3 brought a canny sensitivity to their work: they understood our desire to incorporate the necessary modern technological requirements while preserving the building’s aesthetic appeal and historical heritage. Their contemporary business and corporate solutions combined with their in-depth knowledge and experience of installations in places of worship, allowed us to satisfy the variety of clients and events that walk through our doors.

We recruited D3 again to upgrade our second largest space, with a combined audio/visual package that ensures any staff member or client can easily control a standard event, and enhanced our capability by training in-house engineers.

D3 continue to provide bi-annual maintenance on all our systems, which ensures we're always offering the highest of services to our clients.
